Hey guys. This is a fic mainly about Shane/Kian. It's not a slash fic though.
I'll be posting it chapter by chapter. Hope you like it! ;D
Chapter 1
Coming home from a pretty interesting day work, Gemma Connor walked into her apartment whistling a happy little tune. At first, moving to Ireland to accept a job offer from her dad's old friend Louis Walsh had seemed like a pretty daunting thing. She had been reluctant to go, but after having talked to Louis numerous times, she felt comfortable enough to go ahead with it. It turned out for the best; 3 years later, she found her job to be very easy and she got to work with some amazingly talented people.
That morning, she'd been made to be the roadie of Westlife. She was their first road manager after Anto Byrne, their roadie ever since God knows when, got sacked years ago. Gemma had managed not to hug Louis in delight and scream in excitement when he had told her the news. She'd always been quite a fan of Westlife; anyone who knew her, even vaguely, could attest to that. Her iPod was bursting with the lads' songs, videos and even interviews. She even had them on her computer. Gemma knew that it would be a professional relationship, but the thought of getting to actually talk to the lads practically every day for the next 3 months excited her anyway. She remembered the first time she met them...
*Flashback*
It was in the office. That day had definitely started really wrong. She had arrived late, and judging from all the memos he'd left on her desk she figured Louis wasn't too happy with her because of it. One of the memos was for her to order a lot of pizza. She didn't think anything of it since she figured he was expecting Roxanne, the sweet little girl he'd discovered not too long ago. So when the pizzas came she decided to bring them to his office herself. Besides, she wouldn't mind having a bit of a chat with Roxanne.
His door was closed, which meant he was in a meeting; she knocked and half-shouted "Louis, pizzas are here!" When Louis answered with "Bring them on in!" she opened the door and walked in to find that it wasn't Roxanne whom Louis was meeting up with at all. It was Westlife.
At least, 3/4 of Westlife. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to mask her shock from Louis that well; he laughed at the expression on her face, took the pizzas from her and said "Lads, meet Gemma. She's the brilliant young woman I was telling you about, Thomas's daughter." To Gemma, he said "This is Westlife. But I imagine you already know that." he said with a wink.
Nicky stood up first. Turning to Gemma, he stuck his hand out and said "The name's Nicky Byrne, nice to meet you!" Gemma couldn't help but laugh at that. "Oh yes, Mr. Byrne, I know who you are. Your reputation as a ladies man is hard to miss." she said as she shook his hand. Nicky pretended to wear a hurt expression on his face, and Gemma laughed all the more. Mark introduced himself next; "Mark Feehily, glad to meet you." he said with a warm smile. Shane, who had been on his mobile when she walked in, walked over next. "Heya. My name's Shane Filan." With that, he shook her right hand and gave her a bit of a pat on the back with his other hand. Gemma felt her cheeks burning. She knew she had to get out of there. "Nice to meet you all, really," she said, "but I should really get back to work now." Somehow she was glad at having met them, but in a way she was disappointed since Kian hadn't been there.
But just as she walked out the door and began her brisk walk back to her desk, she crashed into a bloke who'd been just about to enter. They both toppled to the floor. When Gemma looked up, she found that he was already on his feet and had his hand extended to help her up. "Sorry, sorry," she muttered, quickly getting back up on her feet. "No, it's my own fault. I should remember that people coming in or out of Louis's office are always faster than lightning!" the lad said with a laugh. When she looked at him again, she nearly fainted. It was Kian! So he was there too...and she'd made a fabulous first impression. "d**nit," she whispered to herself. "Excuse me?" Kian said. "Are you alright, by the way? My name's Kian. Kian Egan." Gemma struggled to keep herself calm. Then she noticed that she was still holding his hand. "Erm...I'm fine, thanks. It's, uh, Gemma. My name, I mean. Anyway, I really should be going. I just needed to give Louis something." Having said that, she let go of his hand and practically ran all the way back to her desk. Her cheeks were burning; howeever, she couldn't tell if it was Kian's touch that was getting to her-after all, he was her favorite and she had a huge crush on him!-or, strangely enough, if it was Shane's...
*End of flashback*
Just as she was setting the bags of groceries onto a counter in her kitchen, her mobile went off.
"Hello?" she answered, still somewhat distracted by her thoughts of the lads.
"Gemma! Do you remember me at all?" The voice brought her back to reality; it was Anto.
I'll be posting it chapter by chapter. Hope you like it! ;D
