Kian Blast At Rumours - Westlife hunk so in love with Jodi
Exclusive by EOIN MURPHY, showbiz reporter
Westlifer Kian Egan last night blasted rumours he and girlfriend Jodi Albert’s relationship is a stunt.
The singer insisted that his love for her is really UNBREAKABLE and NOT a sham.
Kian, dismissing rumours they were a FAKE couple as “ridiculous”, added: “I hadn’t heard that one yet but it just doesn’t make ant sense.
“Why would we do that? We don’t court the Press.
“We don’t like having newspapers coming into our lives and writing about it, so for us to create a relationship just for that would be ridiculous.
“People make up stuff for the headlines.
“I love Jodi and she loves me and we are very happy together.
“Why anybody would do something so bizarre is beyond me.”
Kian has been dating the former Hollyoaks actress for over four years and is madly in love.
However, the Sligo man also rubbished rumours that the couple had recently got engaged which emerged when he booked a holiday with Jodi to Barbados.
He told me: “I booked Barbados because it’s the first place where I told Jodi I loved her.
“And when I told someone at a table in a function that we were going back there he presumed that we were getting engaged and told everybody.
“But it’s not true. And when we do eventually decide to get married you won’t hear it from some guy sharing a table. We will tell everybody.
“We’ve been together four and a half years and we are very happy but we are not in that place yet.
“Myself and Jodi have lots of things we want to do first.
“And yes, of course, we talk about it and we would one day love to have kids and settle down but just not yet.”
Meanwhile, Westlife are back after a three-month break.
Their ninth album, Back Home, will be released on November 2 and their new single Home is out on November 6.
Exciting
Kian thinks this album is a return to the form that brought them their biggest hits.
He said: “Simon Cowell wanted us to do an album of love songs from films but we had already done the love album.
“We knew that we wanted to do an original album so we said ‘no’.
“It was really exciting getting back in the studio again and I think we have managed to produce an album of songs that has gone back to basics.”
Kian also revealed that the band is hopping to announce a Croke Park gig for their next Irish tour.
He said: “Nothing has been signed yet but we are in talks and it would be incredible.”
