WESTLIFE star Kian Egan's terrified girlfriend Jodi Albert has begged him not to do a skydive.
The star signed for the charity jump in Co Offaly on Wednesday but now Hollyoaks star joined Kian's mum in trying to talk him out of it.
Kian, 26, revealed: "When I told her I was definitely doing it this week she wasn't happy about it.
"She wanted to know what would I do if something went wrong.
"She agreed I was doing it for a good enough reason - to help earthquake victims in Java - and she told me to make sure I got enough money for them." The Flying Without Wings star also revealed his mum Patricia failed to talk him out of it.
"She gave me an earful," he said. "She only found out when she read the local paper. I told her even if I wanted to there was no way I could pull out now.''
Kian and three surfing mates will each be strapped to an experienced skydiver when they leap from a plane and freefall for almost 10,000 ft. They will reach speeds of 180 km/h before the parachutes are opened to slow down for the final 5,000 feet.
The dive, for which Kian hasn't yet started his training, comes down near Edenderry.
He said: ''It will be the first plane I've ever taken off in that I won't land in.
"That idea quite nervewracking. I want to know as little as possible about it until I'm in the air and the door opens and I get pushed out.'' Kian is likely to be strapped to top sky-diver Roger Killeen, a veteran of 5,000 jumps in 14 years.
Roger laughed: ''All he has to do is smile, have fun and don't get sick."
The dive is in aid of the Strandhill Indonesian Relief Fund (SIRF) set up by Kian's surfer pals Allan Mulrooney and brothers Barry and David Mottershead.
They were in Java on holiday last year and were moved by TV pictures of the earthquake there in May.
Over a couple of pints they decided to help.
Kian's three Westlife colleagues, Mark, Shane and Nicky are sponsoring his jump.
Kian said: "Nicky was for doing it but when I told him I could actually arrange it he backed out.''
