LOCAL bride Eleanor Clarke certainly made the boys wink with her pink-themed wedding on June 2.
And amongst those boys was none other that Westlife's Shane Filan who happened to be at the wedding reception venue and was happy to pose for photographs with the glowing bride.
Eleanor and husband Paul Scanlon met 12 years ago at the Drogheda Bus Depot while they were both attending school and the pair have been inseparable ever since, travelling to America and Australia together.
Paul, who is the son of Raymond and Joan Scanlon from Donore and Eleanor, the only daughter of Pat and Margaret Clarke from Kentstown, were married in Donore Church.
Eleanor looked every bit the princess in her beautiful fairytale dress and her three cousins, Julieane Lawlor, Fidelma Yore and Elaine Battersby who did the honours as matron of honour and bridesmaids respectively.
Paul was joined by his three brothers, David Scanlon as bestman and Mark and Seamus as groomsmen.
Seamus travelled all the way home from San Francisco where he lives with his wife Suzanne.
Paul's eldest sister, Olivia, also travelled from San Francisco with her husband and child.
The wedding reception took place in Cabra Castle, Kingscourt, and guests were entertained by local band 'Fish Out of Water' while sipping on pink champagne.
The bride's father, Pat, is a local referee and Seneschalstown GFC man and he had a surprise for the groom, a committed St Mary's GFC, Donore, fan.
He told Paul that although the two teams were neighbours, marrying Eleanor meant he would have to transfer to Seneschalstown.
He even presented Paul with a jersey to wear on the day, much to the delight of Eleanor's two brothers, Shane and Bryan, who both play for Seneschalstown.
Guests danced the night away to 'Who's Who' and the couple had an even bigger surprise in the residents' bar later that night when Shane Filan from Westlife joined them.
The singing star had attended a wedding in Cabra Castle the previous day.
The following day the wedding party went to Nano Reids to watch the Meath v Dublin match.
The happy couple honeymooned in Capetown, Mauritius and Dubai and are now enjoying married life at their home in the Highlands.
