Delta Goodrem's father has banned Brian McFadden from marrying his daughter until he gives up smoking.
The former Westlife star announced his engagement to Australian singer Goodrem in November after three years of dating.
He reportedly hopes to hold the ceremony in Bali rather than in his native Ireland or near Goodrem's home in Australia.
But McFadden must first stop his smoking habit before he is allowed to take the former Neighbours star down the aisle.
He said: "He gave me 'the dad speech' and said I could wed Delta but there was one condition - 'You can't marry her unless you stop smoking'. I said I would but not for a while. I'll have to push back the wedding until I do it."
McFadden was previously married to Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona, with whom he has two daughters, but the pair split up in 2004 shortly before he got together with Goodrem.
