I’ll Die Before Brian Takes Away Those Girls
Kerry Katona unleashed her full fury on estranged husband Brian McFadden in their increasingly bitter tug of love over their kids by announcing: “See you in in court”.
The former pop star and winner of reality TV show I’m a Celeb stressed she would fight Dubliner Brian “tooth and nail” if he tries to get custody of their children Molly 4, and Lilly Sue 3, like he has already promised.
On a trip to Dublin this week, the 25 year old star kept a dignified and diplomatic silence with the rest of the Irish media including Gerry Ryan on his radio show, over her much-publicised bust-up with Brian.
There has been reports they had called “truce” but Kerry let the venom fly when the Sunday World asked her about their relationship.
“Id die before anyone takes my little girls away from me”, Kerry said.
“He is Molly and Lilly’s dad but they’re staying with me.”
Asked about reports that Brian had offered to buy her and her new boyfriend a place in Ireland so he could be close to the children, she recoiled in uncontrollable fits of hysterical laughter and exclaimed: “Utter bollocks!”
Still laughing, she added: “I did her that one, but oh my god, its utter bollocks”.
“I’m happy, my kids are settled and they’ve got a school. I wouldn’t up-root them and leave. I’ve had to do that once already and that wasn’t by choice.
“I want my daughters to have stability and routine, that’s what they need. Ive had a tough year, Brian’s had a tough year, but so have the kids. They need to get themselves a routine for school and they’re settled now.
“It is very sad but nobody seems to be writing anything about Brian unless it’s about the kids so why does he keep on telling these stories? Its just pathetic”.
Singer Brian has gone on record as stating that Kerry has lately been an “unfit mother”, partying in London as well as leaving the children to be minded my “strangers” at home in Warrington, Cheshire.
“I went out on Tuesday in London for the first time in 2 years. “I’m not a big London fan as Im normally working there”, she insisted.
“And the children were being looked after by their nanny”.
She admitted her girls don’t know about their parents bitter spat.
“They have no idea, they don’t have a clue”, she sighed.
And when asked how the kids were, in an obvious jibe at former Westlife star Brian’s allegations, she retorted tongue-in-cheeks: They’re in great form. One of them is with social services, one of them is being put up for adoption and we left the other one in the cupboard with bread and water”.
It all seems so different to when she and Brian married in a fairytale wedding in Slane castle, Co. Meath, in January 02 and were paid €300,000 by Hello! Magazine for the exclusive pictures and story.
But Kerry did give Brian some leeway. “As far as I’m concerned he can say what he wants to say. He’s Molly and Lillys daddy and they love him very much and that’s all I want to discuss. “My kids are Irish, their father is Irish, I love Ireland,” she added.
Kerry met taxi driver Mark through her mum. “I’ve never been so happy in all my life. I’m happy and I’m in love “. This is her second steady boyfriend since she and Brian split in September 2004. As for her divorce, she said: “ I’m just waiting for the papers to get signed and I’m ready,” adding she intends to marry Mark next year.
She herself wants to do more presenting and acting. “ I think after doing Showbands, I want to do more acting. I got such a buzz from it,” she said.
Brians relationship with Australian singer Delta Goodrem has been blamed for wrecking his marriage, although he claims he started romancing her after his split from Kerry. He upped the ante this week in his latest attack on his estranged wife. “Kerry has crossed the line with me and I want my daughters to be with me. She is a an unfit mother and is using her own children to wage a war against me in the media. “The children should not be brought into this but Kerry is making it impossible for me to see them. “this is the last thing I wanted but ive got to do it to see my kids and to save them from Kerry”.
He claimed she sends him a stream of legal letters and lays down “crazy demands”, about when he can see them. “She sends me her lawyers letters at the same time shes drinking in a London pub with her latest fiancée, while her own kids that she cares so much about are left in Warrington”.
He added, “Kerry wanted a war and now shes got one”.
Brian said he last saw his kids about a month ago in New York, “but I speak to them on the phone nearly every day”.
The singer said that a typical example of Kerry’s behaviour was last week in London when both couples ended up drinking in the same hotel. “We were just feet apart and yet we didn’t say one word to each other all night”. He added that if he wins custody, his children will live in Ireland, primarily because his mum, Mairead, runs a Kindergarden school. And Brian insisted he has lots of skeletons in the closet about Kerry and if it went to court “it would be a miracle if the judge didn’t give the kids to me”.
Kerry was in Dublin this week to promote Hellmans Great Irish Sandwich competition - a nationwide search for Irelands best sandwich.
