Westlife are planning a huge stadium concert next summer to show Simon Cowell who's boss. Just two weeks after leaving Cowell's label, the boyband are planning one of their biggest ever gigs after being stunned by the fanatical reaction from their followers at their Irish concert this week. The band have already sold out Croke Park twice over the years and are now eyeing up another spectacular. A source close to the band revealed last night: "They will either perform at the Aviva or Croke Park next summer. "The lads have been stunned by the response from fans at their concerts over the past week. They've been given a confidence boost." Westlife split from Cowell's BMG label after 12 years together. Singer Shane Filan said: "We have a 10-year plan. Moving on from Simon has given us a new lease of life." I still do not think this is a good idea. Leaving Simon Cowell means destroying their music. Simon was a very successful man and he made Westlife so successful but now I doubt Westlife can be that famous as before. Without Simon's guide, I am not fully confident they can stay long in music. Sigh~~~~

This statement just doesn't sound right. It's probably just the writer's expression or whatnot, but he could've said the whole thing better (just my opinion, haha). -------------------- I still do not think this is a good idea. Leaving Simon Cowell means destroying their music. Simon was a very successful man and he made Westlife so successful but now I doubt Westlife can be that famous as before. Without Simon's guide, I am not fully confident they can stay long in music. Sigh~~~~ Hmm, just sharing my thoughts here, hope you don't mind: I'm not sure parting with Simon means destroying their music, exactly. Yes, Simon's very successful and not to mention, powerful in the music / entertainment industry. And of course, he's been instrumental to Westlife, their highs ... but, maybe even their lows? We can't say anything for sure until we hear AND see what RCA (which is also under Sony) can do for them in the coming year / months as they complete their current contract, but we can only hope for the best. Maybe it's worth something (or not), but RCA did handle them in their first 4-5 years and there's no doubt they were very successful then (although I think Simon was their A&R, then, too? But, at least the RCA team have familiarity with them, already). Sure, it can be arguable that the music scene was different from then and now, but I think we can at least give them (RCA) the benefit of the doubt when it comes to taking care of the lads. And I do realize that maybe not releasing a DVD of this year's tour is a point against them, but I'm still keeping my hopes up for a better record for when they release the GH / go on tour for it. I'm pretty sure they've considered the profit and whatnot that could come with it, maybe they do have a valid business reason for not going through with it. Oh and for the record, years ago, my mind was set against ever parting with Simon, as well. But after a lot of disappointments, I'm thinking maybe it is time for a change. -------------------- is there any reason why they left? Hi! I think the reason best come from the lads, themselves ... well, at least one of them Listen here: soundcloud.com/cleaps/nicky-byrne-interview at approximately 6:55 minute. Whole interview's pretty good, so it's worth a listen, I think.
