Irish pop stars WESTLIFE thrilled sick children at a London hospital earlier this month (Dec10) by dropping in unannounced to deliver Christmas presents. The Flying Without Wings hitmakers took time out from their busy schedule to visit Great Ormond Street Hospital and cheer up young patients. The four-piece handed out gifts and treats to the poorly youngsters - and singer Nicky Byrne admits he was on the verge of tears after meeting a three year old suffering from leukaemia. He tells Britain's Daily Star, "Seeing this little girl just brings a lump to my throat - she was born on the same date and year as my little twins. I can't imagine what this family is going through." Bandmate Shane Filan praised the work of staff at the facility, adding: "Visiting Great Ormond Street, especially at Christmas, makes you see what a special place this is."
