McFly to apologise to Westlife

Pop band McFly have been ordered to apologise to Westlife when they meet at the Childline Concert.
They ignited a feud with the Irish group last month by attacking them for releasing an album of cover versions.
Singer Danny Jones said: 'We would never do what Westlife did. We want to be a real band like Oasis.'
But now the groups will come face to face at the Point in Dublin on January 28 in one of the biggest concerts of the year.
A show source revealed McFly's management have ordered them to say sorry to Westlife. The insider added: 'At the end of the day Westlife are one of the most successful pop bands of all time and they deserve some respect.'
Westlife's Kian Egan said: 'We respect everyone else in the music business. You can't survive long in this game by getting into silly arguments with people.'

Hands over Heals – Wembley
Source: The Statesman
Madonna’s plaque is the first of a limited collection of handprints of global stars that will create a Square of Fame to act as a major attraction for visitors to London, in the style of the walkways near the renowned Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The square fronts the transformed Wembley Arena and incorporates Europe’s largest interactive fountain, lighting and music experience. Being about the size of London’s Leicester Square, it sets the scene for the transformation of the area with the regeneration of 28 hectares (about 70 acres) of land into about 743,000 square metres (eight million square feet) of residential, retail, commercial and leisure space.
The Wembley project is one of the largest urban regeneration schemes in Europe and is the biggest development to be undertaken in London by a single developer, unique in providing mixed-use development on an unprecedented scale. The project will see the creation of up to 7,000 jobs, provide high-quality housing, improve facilities for the community and attract an estimated 150 million pounds a year into the area’s economy.
On unveiling her handprints at the Square of Fame, Madonna said: “I’m honoured to be the first performer to unveil a plaque at the Square of Fame. I look forward to seeing other artists adding their handprints alongside mine.”
Nick Shattock is deputy chief executive of Quintain Estates & Development, the company behind Wembley’s regeneration. He said: “Wembley is a venue for legends and we wanted to create a Hollywood-style feature to honour our most successful performers.
“Madonna is officially the greatest female star in the world and we are delighted that she is the first of what will only be a few major names to be celebrated in the Square of Fame. Forty-seven million pounds has transformed Wembley Arena and created the Square of Fame, and Madonna ~ with five Grammys, 12 UK number ones and 200 million pounds of album sales ~ sets the standard.”
The project being undertaken by Quintain is the biggest transformation of Wembley since the 1920s. The result will be the creation of an urban environment that will dramatically enhance the experience of visiting the new National Stadium and the world-famous Wembley Arena.
At the heart of the development will be 4,500 apartments that will provide homes for up to 8,500 people and will include about 40 per cent of lower-cost housing. The residential element of the project has been carefully planned to offer a diverse range of properties, including studio and 1-4 bedroom apartments that will meet local housing needs as well as attract new residents to the area.
As part of the scheme, Quintain Estates & Development has undertaken a 47 million pounds refurbishment of the grade-two-listed Wembley Arena. The project was completed on time and Wembley Arena has now reopened with a record calendar of 175 events, with George Michael, Kylie, Cliff Richard, the Eagles, Santana, McFly, and Westlife joining Madonna.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Madonna is “the most successful female solo artist of all time”.
Let’s hope that Westlife’s handprints will follow.
