I'm Not Irish: Brian Ditches His Roots & Vows To Be 100% Aussie
FIRST he dumped his loyal bandmates, now Brian McFadden has jilted his own country.
The singer, 28, caused a sensation when he quit Westlife five years ago as the band prepared to embark on a record-breaking tour.
Now the controversial star has revealed he is "100 per cent Australian" after putting down roots there with fiancee Delta Goodrem.
Brian, who once famously claimed to the Irish Daily Mirror he was the "most hated man in Ireland", said he has no regrets about leaving his home country.
He added: "I feel totally 100 per cent Australian now.
"The people, the way of life, the culture - it's who I am. I don't feel that Ireland is my home.
My home is Australia and to me I'm Australian."
Brian quit Ireland four years ago when he split from his exwife Kerry Katona.
He set up home in London for a year as he tried to launch a solo career then moved to Australia when he fell in love with Aussie pop star Delta Goodrem.
During their bitter divorce Kerry - mother of his daughters Molly, seven, and Lilly Sue who is six today - slammed Brian for moving away and claimed: "He is a disgrace - he's moved to Australia and hardly sees his girls any more."
But Brian hit back, saying: "Kerry makes it nearly impossible for me to see my kids. She blocks my phone calls and keeps going back on the arrangements I made to see them."
The Dubliner now enjoys his own radio show in Australia and is supporting Delta on her latest tour.
He added: "It's a much more laid-back way of life for me here. I'm very happy. "Delta and I have a lovely home and we have a great quality of life."
