Relight my feud
By GORDON SMART
TAKE THAT have sensationally pulled out of The X Factor final - after hearing that old rivals Boyzone are on the bill.
Their move plunged the ITV1 show into chaos last night.
Desperate efforts were being made to book another act for Saturday’ s finale.
A source said: “Take That are huge fans of X Factor, especially Gary Barlow. He feels a real affinity with the show and loves encouraging new talent. When they heard Boyzone were on the bill they decided not to do it. It’s really upset the schedule.”
After Take That discovered Boyzone’s fellow Irish crooners Westlife were also lined-up, they dug their heels in even further.
Beyonce, Seal and Duffy will sing with the finalists. Show supremo Simon Cowell yesterday publicly backed Alexandra Burke, 20, to win. She heads JLS and Eoghan Quigg in our online poll.
More than 12,000 votes have been cast - with 49 per cent for Alex.

Take That: We have no problem with Boyzone and Westlife
Take That have denied pulling out of The X Factor final this weekend after discovering Boyzone and Westlife were lined up to play.
The band - arguably the most successful boyband in history :vomit: - were reported to have thrown a diva strop when they found out their old rivals were on the bill for Saturday's ITV show.
Beyonce, Seal and Duffy are still lined up to perform but X Factor bosses are now desperately searching for another act to book for the finale.
But today the band knocked back the claim: 'Gary and Ronan are good friends.
'They have been out together recently and there's no problem between them,' a source said.
The band are playing in Europe on Saturday night and were never booked in to play the X Factor, their record company said today.
Music mogul Simon Cowell, who created the show, publicly backed Alexandra Burke to win yesterday.
The 20-year-old is up against Eoghan Quigg and JLS for the X Factor crown.

Shay Given helps raise thousands at bash
by Sara Nichol, Evening Chronicle
POP stars and footballers hoped the luck of the Irish would be on their side at a glamorous charity gambling night.
Westlife band members Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan joined Newcastle United goalie Shay Given for Las Vegas in the Toon, held at St James’s Park.
Hundreds of guests dressed up to the nines and tried their hand at poker and roulette in aid of the Newcastle United Foundation, the Shay Given Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support.
A dazzling fashion show kicked off the spectacular night, followed by performances from X Factor finalists Bad Lashes and soul singer Beverley Knight.
Among other celebrity faces in the audience were United manager Joe Kinnear and player Stephen Taylor, who had front-row seats for the show.
Given had his own personal reason for wanting to raise funds for Macmillan after his mum Agnes died from cancer when he was five.
Shay, who organised the night with his wife Jane, said: “Macmillan is a cause that is very close to my heart. One in three people are affected by cancer in some way, shape or form, so the work Macmillan does is fantastic.
“The idea for the event was mostly my wife Jane’s. Newcastle United have also been a great help, what with helping support the cause and giving us use of the function rooms.”
A five-course dinner and a question and answer session with the Magpies players followed the fashion show.
A Mercedes car was up for grabs at auction, while a raffle also gave guests the chance to walk away with some fantastic prizes.
Previous events backed by Given have included the Fashion Kicks catwalk show and Chefs United, a charity cook-off also staged at the ground.
In March, the Fashion Kicks show, in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Tyneside Appeal, saw former manager Kevin Keegan among those raising thousands of pounds for research and specialist nurses.

X Factor exclusive: JLS to duet with Rihanna in final boost
By Clemmie Moodie
Boyband sensation JLS will sing with superstar Rihanna in Saturday’s X Factor final.
The lads have struck lucky by landing a duet with the sexy chart-topper on the live show.
It is a clear blow to their rivals Alexandra Burke and Eoghan Quigg. Alexandra will team up with Westlife while Eoghan has Boyzone.
In last year’s final Leon Jackson performed beside megastar Kylie Minogue and stormed to victory after starting the show a 6-1 outsider.
Bookies thinking history could repeat itself cut the odds on JLS winning to 7-2 last night.
The boys, Oritse Williams and Jonathan Gill, both 21, Aston Merrygold, 20, and Marvin Humes, 23, would be the first group to win.
A show insider said: “They are thrilled to be working with Rihanna. It is a massive coup. She has an incredibly wide fanbase which is bound to help pull votes.
“The feeling is that Rihanna’s backing is the clincher.
“Even Simon Cowell has admitted they could win. He views them as an increasingly profitable asset.”
JLS, which stands for Jack the Lad Swings, will perform Rihanna’s first No1 hit Umbrella on Saturday.
The live performance with an established star can make or break X factor hopefuls.
Last year the favourite Rhydian Roberts’s performance beside Katherine Jenkins failed to draw enough phone votes.
And Same Difference’s rendition of Any Dream Will Do with Jason Donovan saw them trail in third.
But Leon’s victory was hailed as being “the biggest shock in the history of reality TV betting”.
Alexandra was still 8-13 favourite to win last night with Eoghan 4-1.
But JLS’s popularity has been soaring. Earlier this week more than 30 fans were taken to hospital following a crowd scramble during a JLS gig at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, South London.
Last week the Mirror revealed Michael Jackson was a fan of the group, mentored by Louis Walsh, and had asked them to support him on tour next year.

Westlife's manager Louis Walsh mentions that they might appear on Saturday's X Factor final.

Louis also revealed that world-renowned acts will be joining the three contestants on stage.
"They're going to do a duet with somebody famous, so I think Boyzone are going to do it with Eoghan, there's talk that Beyonce, Take That or Westlife are going to take the other two duets, or possibly Rhianna."
"There will be at least two boybands there, "he said, adding that "nothing is finalised yet."[/QUOTE]
