One thing the original "TEOTH" won the "Song of the Year" Grammy but I don't know if the vid won anything. Its director, Russel Mucchay was a landmark director of 80's videos including some by Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran. I think he also had something to do with the "Highlander" movie.

my dad was laughing the other day he said TEOTH often plays in beerhouses back when he was younger and it keeps reminding him of stripping girls.. I gave him the 'annoyed' blank stare

^ ^ Hahaha! That's funny. I guess it must be true coz it's an old song. But I think it's how it's being sung and being delivered that counts. Hehe! ;D

It was definitely Westlife singing and I just couldn't resist but smile when I heard it. Rock on! \m/

late last year, i tried to research the meaning of bonnie tyler's music video. as far as i can recall, the director of the said video mentioned that there is no surrealistic meaning behind it. that, essentially, it was a literal video representation of the song. thus, explaining the teener in the said video displaying bright eyes.
bonnie tyler's interpretation of the song was superb. the music video, though visually entertaining, fell short of my expectations. I certainly hope that westlife's music video will be a whole lot better...classic material so to speak.
just a train of thought. ayt!

bonnie tyler's interpretation of the song was superb. the music video, though visually entertaining, fell short of my expectations. That song won Song of the Year in the 1984 Grammy Awards I think. Its really a brilliant song, esp when it was newly released then it was a novelty. At the rate WL vids are conceptualized and directed... good luck! Like most of you I also heard TEOTH on 90.7 DZMB, a local radio station here in Manila. I've posted my confusion re release dates in the Filipino thread. Funny coz it took a while before we got to hear "The Rose" on air here but re TEOTH, we're a bit advanced, don't you think? Ahead of the release date!
