New single
Westlife's new single is titled "Home" and the band have a new album - their 9thto date! The album will be released on 12th November, and "Home" will hit the shelves in just two weeks time (29th October).
The new single is a cover of the Michael Buble classic, who coincidentally joined us on the sofa only last week! It's been almost a year since the release of their last album, and the boys are visiting to tell us what they've been up to; and they'll also be giving a performance of their new single...
The Westlife story so far...
---Westlife formed in July 1998, with the members Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, and Brian McFadden
They were signed by Simon Cowell and are currently managed by Louis Walsh
---1998 opened for the 'Backstreet Boys' concert in Dublin. Later that year, they won Best New Tour Act at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party
three singles went straight to #1: "Swear It Again",
---March 1999; "If I Let You Go", August 1999; "Flying Without Wings"
---October 1999
First number one artist of the new millennium: their double-A-side single, "I Have a Dream" / "Seasons in the Sun" knocked Cliff Richard's "The Millennium Prayer" off the top spot
---November 1999: first album 'Westlife' reached number two
---April 2000: "Fool Again" reached number one
---November 2000: duet with Mariah Carey on the Phil Collins classic "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)" and the ballad "My Love" (both reached number one)
Broke an unexpected record, having their 7 debut singles in the top of the UK charts
---November 2000: 2nd album "Coast to Coast" (4th biggest selling album of the year in UK)
---In 2001: launched their first world tour, unofficially nicknamed "The No Stools Tour", because of the band's reputation of performing perched on stools!
---November 2001: 3rd album "World of Our Own"
Singles from this album: "Uptown Girl", "Queen of My Heart" and "World of Our Own" all went to number one
This album led to their 2nd tour (over Europe and UK)

This was just 3 weeks before Westlife were due to embark on their fourth UK & Europe tour
--November 2004: released 'Allow Us to Be Frank', a Rat Pack-inspired album. Westlife didn't release a single from this album

--2006: signed a brand new FIVE ALBUM deal with Sony/BMG
